This article aims at introducing the first Arabic collective dictionary issued by a scientific institution to perform a literary and cultural educational function, which is the lexicon of the mediator, focusing on what it is, its methodology and the sources of its material, as well as its advantages and disadvantages.

as a result, the intermediate lexicon is only an updated version of the old Arabic lexicon, and in order to reach the Arab lexical work to the ranks of the global lexicons, much work needs to be done, uniting efforts and benefiting from various experiences and conducting a number of revisions of the Arabic lexicon in both form and content.
