Abstract EN

Insurance companies resort to reinsurance and securitization technology so as to manage its risks and reduce the impact of changes in the amount of damages on the result of exploitation, as well as to increase the size of exposure to a specific risk.

This research paper aims to show the most important coverage alternatives available to insurance companies in order to manage the risks they face.

The study found out that both financial reinsurance and derivative financial instruments in the field of insurance meet most of the conditions for success as an effective alternative to coverage, which has been confirmed by academic studies, and that the latter is a complement to traditional reinsurance and not a substitute for it.
