The caricature is considered as a communicative system that constitutes a symbolic discourse which contains both, iconic and linguistic indications, as it derives its suggestive material from the event which it represents.

this discourse tends to approach the current domestic and international political transformations and events.

on this basis, this study attempts to examine the issue of representations of the satirical caricature discourse of the Algerian movement.

the practical part of the study relies on analyzing a sample of Hisham Baba Ahmed's caricature.

a semiological analysis according to the Roland Barthes approach, to identify the representations of the Algerian popular movement.

the study found the ability of the caricature discourse to build representations that embody some of the gains of the Algerian popular movement (al Hirak) in an artistic way, through the topics in which the painter (le hic) aim to show the event and accompany its process through its symbols, slogans and prominent figures.
