Abstract EN

This study aims to identify to the level of knowledge of primary stage teachers with signs of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in government schools, and to know if there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the study sample according to variable (sex, specialization, and years of experience).

to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach by developed a scale of signs of (ADHD) and verified of its reliability and validity.Where a simple random sample was drawn with (5%) of primary stage teachers in government schools in Irbid governorate for the academic year (2018/2019).

thus, the researcher distributed the study scale to a sample of (484) teachers, and the number of valid scales for analysis (421), with rate (87%) of the study sample.

the results showed that there was an average level of knowledge of primary stage teachers with signs of (ADHD) in government schools.

the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the level of knowledge of the teachers in this disorder due to sex variable and for females, and the results also showed that there were no significant differences in the level of knowledge of these teachers with (ADHD) due to the variables of specialization, and years of experience.

the study recommended that the Ministry of Education should hold awareness workshops to introduce teachers to the concept of (ADHD) with its signs.
