Abstract EN

The study aimed to determine the degree of using knowledge networks by faculty staff in Jordanian public universities and it's relationship with the level of their achievement motivation.

the descriptive correlative method was used.

the study population consisted of members of the faculty members at Jordanian public universities : (Jordan, Al Yarmouk, Al al-Bayt) totalling (2734) members.

the study sample consisted of(382) members.

the questionnaire was used as a tool, it consisted of two parts, the first part to mesure using knowledge networks by faculty staff, and consisted of (42) items divided into (4) domains.

the second part to mesure achievement motivation and consists of (31) items divided into (5) domains.

validity and reliability coefficient were ensured for the tool.

the results revealed that degree of using knowledge networks by faculty staff was high.

moreover, the level of achievement motivation among faculty staff also reached a high level.

the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level)α=0.05(between the mean of the degree of of using knowledge networks due to the gender variable on the domains : (availability of network requirements, ERIC and EBSCO cognitive, and use of EBSCO), scientific rank on the domains: (availability of knowledge network requirements, field of computer skills), and specialization.

furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) between the mean of the achievement motivation level among faculty staff due to the gender variable on the domains : (self-confidence, perseverance, excellence, proficiency, and independence), scientific rank on the domains: (self-confidence, competition), and specialization on the domains : (selfconfidence, excellence and proficiency).

in light of the study findings, the researchers recommended to providing continuous training courses for faculty members through which they are trained on high-level computer programs with modern technology, enhancing the achievement motivation among faculty staff by focusing on better research culture through establishing a competitive mechanism, and rewards.
