Abstract EN

The current study aims at identifying the effectiveness practicing of CBT and reducing the symptoms of depression among abused orphan children.

The study sample consisted of 20 orphan children who suffer depression symptoms and they were distributed two main groups; control and excremental groups each consisting of 10 children with age group ranging from 10 - 12 years.

The study employed the following tools: child abuse scale and Beck Depression scale.

The study concluded that there are differences in the average scores of the experimental group and the control group on the abused orphan children scale of depression favoring the experimental group due to the practice of CBT.

In addition, there were statistical differences between the pre and post measures of male and female in the experimental group, favoring female, as the depression symptoms were more among female than the male.

The study stated recommendations for future research.
