Abstract EN

The issue of financial stability is one of the most important economic topics, and it is of great importance to various developed and developing countries alike, as the governmental authorities in general and monetary authorities in particular in various countries, including Iraq, are concerned with taking policies and measures to achieve the goal of monetary stability through their monetary stability, and its quantitative variables, especially the intermediate monetary variables (money supply, interest rates and exchange), which reflects positively on economic activity, and ensures the achievement of financial and economic stability.

The research found that the use of the monetary policy for the intermediate variables in Iraq during the period (2006-2018), has different implications for the state of financial stability, including the stability of the general level of prices and the reduction of the interest rate to attract investments, confront inflationary expectations and achieve strong returns for the Iraqi dinar, the stability of the Iraqi economy, and thus providing opportunities for the national economy It is concluded from the analysis of the research that the financial and monetary developments embodied by the effects of the intermediate monetary variables play important and influential roles in the basic financial stability variables, as all of these effects affect the variables of the economy in a way that shows and clarifies the reflexive, mutual and intertwined relationships in one or both directions sometimes.

The research recommends the need to focus monetary policy in Iraq in the effective use of intermediate variables, for their direct effects on macroeconomic variables, such as inflation, output and investment, the movement of capital and credit flows, and strengthening the role of the banking system in the face of imbalances and shocks, as well as ensuring the financial and monetary stability of the country, as well as the financial and monetary stability of the country.
