Abstract EN

The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of an educational program using virtual manipulatives to develop mathematical skills among students with learning disabilities in Jeddah Governorate.

In the present study, the quasi-experimental approach was used to achieve its main objective, using nonequivalent groups pretest-posttest design.

The sample of the study consisted of (32) students, divided into two groups, control and experimental, and each group was divided into (16) students.

The study tool consisting of a test that includes (24) items, (12) items to measure the addition skill, and (12) items to measure the subtraction skill was developed, and it extracted appropriate validity and consistency indications.

In order to implement the intervention, the tablet application was developed with virtual manipulatives for concrete representation to teach addition and subtraction skills.

The results indicated the effectiveness of the educational application with virtual manipulatives in developing the addition and subtraction skills of the study sample.

The study also indicated that there were no differences in the effectiveness of the program due to the gender variable.

The study recommends that more studies be conducted in this field on the various learning areas experienced by students with learning disabilities.
