Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the impact of both population and public expenditures on unemployment levels in Algeria during the period 1995 to 2020, through analyzing the effect of population development and the government expenditure on unemployment.

The study found that Algeria experienced a large demographic explosion after its independence.

Despite its decline in the 1990s, it continued to develop after the rise in oil prices and the improvement of financial and security conditions, which had an impact on the high unemployment rates, this pushes the Algerian, authorizes to think for real solutions concerning the unemployment rates.

In order to reduce this phenomenon a set of programs, policies and reforms were adopted, the most important of which are the operational programs, by adopting a policy of expansionary government spending simultaneous with the increase of Algeria's oil revenues to reduce the unemployment rates.

However, it is worth noting that during the year 2020, unemployment rates increased and government spending decreased due to the economic crisis that Algeria experienced, in addition to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic.
