The introduction of the central bank digital currency based on blockchain technology represents a new global challenge and trend, the bank for International settlements reporting in 2020 indicating that 86% of national central banks are considering projects to launch their national digital currencies, which is reinforced by the COVID 19 pandemic and the risks and threats of virtual currencies such as Bitcoin and Libra.

this research paper aims to highlight the extent to which the Algerian digital dinar project can be achieved to meet the risks and challenges of private digital currencies on the one hand, and to take advantage of the central digital currency based on blockchain technology while presenting possible scenarios for achieving this project
