Abstract EN

The research is a linguistic study consisting of an introduction and two sections.

In the first section, we dealt with an overview of Semitic languages and an introduction to them.

We dealt with a definition of the dialect in language and terminology and an overview of the Iraqi colloquialism, and the most important thing that distinguishes the Iraqi colloquialism.

We also touched on the most important sources that were used in the research and were our reference in writing.

The second topic came to deal with a selection of Iraqi colloquial words with Semitic roots.

And sometimes the word comes from a specific work, that these authentic words had to be dealt with, shown and studied because of their beauty of pronunciation and meaning to distinguish our language among other sisters, that the Iraqi slang is abundant with beautiful colloquial vocabulary and our choice of these words was alphabetically as a model only to show the sweetness of the pronunciation And the meaning of it, the research is a linguistic study to shed light on a distinctive feature in our Iraqi vernacular.
