Abstract EN

This study aims to measure the impact of the independence index of the bank of Algeria on variables such as the role during the period 1980- 2019, by tracking the changes in the independence index of the bank of Algeria, which was calculated based on the model (Neypti et Webb, Cukierman), and how they affect each of the rates inflation, unemployment rate, per capita GDP rate, and the balance of payments equilibrium rate.

to achieve this, we have used the deductive approach, both descriptive and analytical, when addressing the relationship of the central bank's independence index with the inflation rate, unemployment rate, per capita rate of gross product, and the balance of payments equilibrium rate.

and analytical when extracting the level of the independence index of the bank of Algeria from the various articles of the laws regulating the work of the bank of Algeria during the study period.

in addition, we used the applied approach based on the outputs of eviews10, and the results of the standard study were as follows: in the short term, there is a positive direct relationship between the independence index of the bank of Algeria, the inflation rate and the unemployment rate, and a weak direct relationship with the rate of per capita GDP, and an inverse relationship with the balance of payments rate, but in the long run the relationship takes its correct form, as it becomes an inverse relationship with both the inflation rate and the unemployment rate, and a strong direct relationship with the rate of per capita gross product, and it remains an inverse relationship with the balance of payments rate, but strong.
