This study aims to try to measure the financial stability of Algerian banks, using the z-score model, during the period 2002-2017, because it is one of the most important models that measure financial hardness banks, and helps prevent financial insolvencies, by applying it to public banks and private banks operating in the banking sector, and their data are available in the reports of the Bank of Algeria.

And that is through analyzing the most important indicators of the soundness of the Algerian banking sector during the period 2002-2017, and the degree of financial stability has been measured at the level of public and private banks, then the banking sector as a whole The study concluded that Algerian banks in general are not insolvent and are characterized by relative financial stability, and that there are no significant differences between the degree of stability of public and private banks
