Sustainable agricultural development programs are one of the effective strategies in reducing the phenomenon of poverty, especially in rural areas, as they are areas of agricultural activity on the one hand, and because poverty rates are higher compared to urban areas.

Statistics indicate that about 24% are unable to meet their basic needs.

On this basis, Algeria has implemented many sustainable agricultural and rural development programs during the past twenty years, aimed at encouraging agricultural production on the one hand, improving the economic and social conditions of rural areas and reducing poverty levels, which decreased from 12.1% in 2000 to 05.03% in 2019.
