This research studies the efforts of the Minister Nizam al-Mulk at-Toussi (d.

485H/ 1092M) in enriching the intellectual life in the Islamic world during his reign.

It aims to introduce the Minister and his social and political status.

It also aims to highlight his efforts and contributions in supporting the scientific activity in Islamic cities, as well to indicate his activity in popularizing the building of schools, and to show the impact of that intellectually, socially, culturally and politically.

Among the most important results of the research is that the Seljuk Minister Nizam al-Mulk left a rich intellectual and scientific history despite his political preoccupations.

He took great care of the scientific and intellectual activity.

Among the manifestations of his interest for the scientific activity was his building of schools in many Islamic cities during the period of his ministry.

In addition, his closeness to scholars and his sitting with them, and giving him the teachers' fees and students' scholarship, and his endowment of awqaf on that, some scholars said that he was the first to give the scholarship to students.

Among its manifestations is also the construction of facilities and the architecture of the country; this encourages students to come to it, thus, energizing the scientific activity.

The efforts of Minister Nizam al-Mulk have had a great impact on intellectual life.
