This study aims to investigate the role that cross-border ethnic ties play in stimulating the diffuse character of internal dispute.

As these links turn into a mechanism that increases the potential for dispute diffusion; Through solidarity of ethnic groups and learning them strategically, as well as options for political leaders and / or rebel leaders to play on the ethnic chord, but this role remains possible in unstable internal environments, and within competitive regional and international contexts, as the Sahel; In which ethnic ties have become a tool in the hands of several actors, stimulating the diffusivity of internal dispute.
