Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the reflection of a competitive sport practice adapted to some personality traits of physically handicapped people.

The researcher used a descriptive approach on a sample of 102 physically handicapped athletes.

The research tools were Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1995), Spielberger, Gorssuch, and Lushene Anxiety Trait Scale (1970), and Freiberg's character traits list (Diehl, 1970).

The results concluded that the adapted sport practice represented in wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball contributes to raising the level of positive personality traits, represented in social traits, and self-esteem, as the arithmetic means are greater than the hypothesis means and the difference between them is statistically significant at a level of significance of P≤0.
