Abstract EN

The study about the impact of applying institutional accreditation standards and its reflection on library services through the experience of the deanship of library affairs at King Abdulaziz University and got an institutional accreditation license.

the most objectives of the study is to get acquainted with the experience of the deanship of library affairs in obtaining an institutional accreditation license, as well as to identify the practices of the university library in got and renewing the license.

in this study, the researcher used the descriptive method approach; where he tracked and described the procedures that the university library took to got the license, and the researcher was approved to got information through reports and internal files in the library that contain all the details.

also rely on the tacit knowledge of the researcher through his experience the study concluded that institutional accreditation is an important practice for informational institutions in general and academic libraries in particular, as it makes each library its own identity and distinguishes it from others, as well as the need to implement the quality system in universities.

the most recommendations of the study is bulid up of a qualified and experienced work team within each library that will play the role of institutional accreditation.

emphasis on professional unions and associations by adopting the idea of libraries obtaining institutional accreditation.
