Abstract EN

The study aimed to shed light on the agricultural sector in Algeria as one of the most important development alternatives within the framework of the policy of economic diversification, by presenting the reality of the sector in Algeria and its effects on macroeconomic indicators.

It concluded that, the agricultural sector still suffers from marginalization and its contribution to the national economy is weak compared to its capabilities, since the achieved results are still far from the ambition of making the agricultural sector as a development alternative to hydrocarbons, It recommended the importance and necessity of promoting the agricultural sector to become a reliable development sector for economic diversification outside the hydrocarbon sector.
