These games took place between 1968 and 1974 through four sports tournaments in which young people from the Maghreb countries participated, the number of participants varying from one year to another.

the year 1974 brought together the five Maghreb countries (Algeria, Tunisia, morocco, Libya and Mauritania).

Algeria was the first to host these games in 1968, only six years after its independence.

it was also the last stop to host it for the second time in 1974.

the Algerian state attached great importance to these games, and the late president Houari Boumediene was the one who signaled their launch in 1968 in Algiers.

these games brought together enthusiastic young people from the Maghreb countries, their objective is to get to know each other and build a developed Maghreb that aspires to a better future for the Maghreb people.
