In this paper, we discuss an economic and social topic that falls within the so-called "history of the crisis" of Algeria in the Ottoman era, and as a historical study of part of the pandemics and crises that affected the country in this period, we touched on the famines that algeria has been subjected to repeatedly, which was often part of a series of events experienced by the state, as one of the scourges that have ravaged the demographic growth of the population of Algeria and is characterized by the collapse of food security and has strong effects on the security, psychological and social level
