The competency approach was transferred to the Algerian school at the beginning of the current millennium, according to the criticisms leveled at the approach with goals, and its adoption by many developed countries, and also according to the great praise of it by many notables of education around the world, and finally according to the results of many studies that have proven It is effective in many societies.

However, in Algeria and some countries, it is subject to severe criticism, and some of its critics have reached a demand to dispense with it, for technical and procedural reasons.

For this reason, the current study came as an attempt to approach the most important segment of the practice of education, and they are the professors, in order to identify their attitudes towards it.

The study sample included (257) stalkers, of whom (153) were female, and for the purpose of data collection, the researchers built a questionnaire consisting of (24) items distributed on three dimensions (cognitive, behavioral, and emotional).

After unpacking the data and analyzing it statistically, the study concluded that the attitudes of the professors as a whole towards teaching by the competency approach did not exceed the average level.

The differences between these trends are not significant.
