Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the assessment of a sample of Kuwaitis parents of the effects of electronic games on their adolescent children and its relationship to their level of health security awareness, and to determine the contexts of playing these games among adolescents in Jordan.

To achieve the objectives, the study followed the descriptive analytical approach by applying a questionnaire consisting of three sections (contexts, repercussions, level of awareness of health security) on a sample of 380 personals (Male, Female).

The results showed unsatisfactory contexts from the sample point of view in the domains of playing time, playing participation, players feeling, and the total degree of sample estimate of the Repercussions of electronic games on adolescents.

They were large with relative weight 69.9%, and their health security awareness level was average with relative weight 60.1%, there is a positive correlation between the sample members’ estimation of the repercussions of electronic games on their adolescent children and their level of health security awareness with a strong correlation coefficient of 0.919.

The study recommended directing parents to share electronic play with their children in light of time controls, control, physical and psychological safety, and traditional sports play, and work on finding a rating system for electronic games similar to the Entertainment Software Rating Board to be a reference for categorizing games by age.
