Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the extent of the availability of criteria for sustainable development dimensions in the content of the social and national studies course at secondary school.

To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher prepared criteria derived from the dimensions of sustainable development, as well as by reviewing previous studies and researches related to them in order to analyze the content of geography course in secondary school (curriculum system) depending on it and by using the descriptive approach based on the method of content analysis.

The study population was represented in the content of geography book in secondary school (curriculum system), and the researcher tested the Stability of the analysis using the (Holisti) equation.

The results of the study showed that the criteria for the dimensions of sustainable development were distributed in the content of geography course in secondary school (curriculum system) but in varying proportions and its total reached (105) criteria items in the content of the geography course in secondary school (curriculum system).

The criteria for sustainable development were distributed in three dimensions, thirteen criteria in each dimension.

The Study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the benefit from the list of criteria that the study reached to it when conducting studies on the curricula of the other stages of schools, and taking into account the inclusion of these criteria in the content of the curriculum when developing it.
