Abstract EN

The current research aims to investigate the contributions of psychomune epidemiology to overcoming the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among students and faculty at Arab universities who recovered from the COVID 19 virus.

The study also attempted to examine how the contribution differs by identifying the level of mental immunity and post-traumatic stress disorders of the virus infection.

The study was conducted among 75 patients who recovered from COVID 19: 39 students and 36 faculty staff.

The researcher used the psycho immune scale, and the measure of posttraumatic stress disorders of the coronavirus, which were developed by the researcher.

The results of the study illustrated that their level of psychological immunity is high in the subdivisions of psychological immunity (containment, adaptive confrontation and self-regulation).

It was also found that the level of psychological immunity of teaching staff did not significantly differ from that of university students except for the self-regulation system as the teaching staff's level of the self-regulation system was significantly different from that of university students.

The results also showed that the level of PTSD for both students and faculty members was high, and that the subdivisions of PTSD (symptoms of restoring traumatic experience, symptoms of avoidance and loss of functional role - symptoms of hyperexcitability) were high for both groups However, the level of PTSD among the faculty members was lower than that of students.

The study results confirmed the significant contributions of the psychological immunity among students and faculty members at Arab universities to overcoming PTSD.

The faculty members' adaptive confrontation system had a greater contribution to overcoming the restoration of traumatic experience than that of students.

The contribution of the self-regulation system and containment system to overcoming the overall PTSD, avoidance and loss of career as well as hyperexcitability for the faculty members was higher than that of students.
