Abstract EN

The current research aimed at improving the research quality at Fayoum university in light of the standards of some world rankings of universities.

to achieve the research aims, the descriptive approach has been used by identifying the intellectual and philosophical framework for research quality, and the world rankings of universities.

the current research has focused on three world rankings that are concerned with the scientific research and its quality at universities, namely : shanghai "academic ranking of world universities" (ARWU), the times higher education world university rankings (THE), and we biometrics ranking.

in addition, the efforts of Fayoum university to improve its research quality have been monitored in light of the criteria of the mentioned rankings.

in light of the foregoing, a suggested proposal has been developed through which the research quality at Fayoum university can be improved in light of the standards of the mentioned world rankings of universities.

the procedures of the suggested proposal were put in a form to survey the point of view of a group of professors at faculties of education in many egyptian universities.

finally, suggested modifications have been made until the proposal reached its final form.
