The Hijaz was of great interest to Algerian travellers during the Ottoman era, as hajj is considered the most important and greatest motivation of the journey among Muslims in general and Moroccans in particular, and Hussein Al-Wurtalani is among the Algerian travellers who took an interest in and composed of this region, and his journey is among the most important trips that dealt with various social, cultural and political aspects during the 12th century.

His journey included very important information related to daily life, living situation, style of government, level of culture, nature of customs, etc.
