Abstract EN

This article aims to highlight the most important uses of solar energy in agricultural activity and the benefits that can be obtained, in light of the current global trend of expanding the exploitation of this alternative energy.

to meet the needs of the agricultural sector and to achieve sustainable agricultural development.

The experience of Algeria and of some Arab countries showed the important role of this energy, which combined economic, environmental, and social dimensions, so it was used to pump groundwater into the land, produce electricity and for domestic use in the countryside.

Many results have been achieved, the most important of which are the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the mitigation of the effects of fluctuations in the prices of fossil fuels and their rise, the creation of new job opportunities.

The efficiency of solar energy systems and their contribution to the development of the agricultural sector no longer needs to be proven.
