Abstract EN

This research aims to clarify the relationship between economy and Islamic law (Shari'ah) and the relationship between Inflation and the increase of prices and the kind of currency used in transactions.

The research has proved what Muslim scholars have suggested; that the change in economy and the high prices appeared when Muslims subsitueted gold and silver with modern currency.

However the paper currency used now might encounter the copper currency which was used in some Islamic countries at that time.

This is because they are both self-valueless and dependent in their value on other factors.

Each gains its market value from the power of its producer or from the extent of dealing with it.

Also the research showed that gold and silver currency is the only safe and secure solution to prevent inflation.This is because the amount of gold and silver in nature is, relatively, stable.Therefore, state will not be able to produce huge amounts of currency unlike the case in paper currency.

The state will be tied to the amount of gold it owns which subject to the economic status of that state and as long as the amount is limited and fixed the prices will stay also limited and fixed or at least the change in the price will be in a very narrow limits wich will not harm people and their properties.
