Abstract EN

This article aims to investigate the effectiveness of a proposed unit to develop values of digital citizenship in Hadith and Islamic culture curriculum among second year secondary students.

A quasi-experimental study was conducted using one group consisting of (33) second year secondary female students in Dammam.

The study employs several procedures to develop and validate treatment and measurement tools to test the proposed unit.

The procedures include a list of values of digital citizenship in Hadith and Islamic culture curriculum, the proposed unit, the unit teaching guide, a pre-test and post-test to measure the effectiveness of the proposed unit.

The data were analyzed using t-test and Cohen's d to measure the effect size to indicate the standardized difference between pre-test and post-test means.

The study results show a statistically significant effect on students’ acquisition of values of digital citizenship in Hadith and Islamic culture curriculum due to their enrollment in this quasi-experimental study.

The study recommends to benefit from the proposed unit and apply it on the teaching of Hadith and Islamic culture curriculum in secondary school, as well as to benefit from the list of values of digital citizenship that was tested in this study and to motivate its components throughout the curriculum.
