Sexual harassment is a social phenomenon that is old and prevalent in all human societies.

Therefore, the international legislator has recently become aware of the serious effects of sexual harassment, specifically the psychological and social effects.

Hence, voices began to rise to oppose it and find legislative solutions to confront it which prompted many penal legislations to criminalize sexual harassment with specific provisions, while some of them still apply general provisions criminalizing acts of attack on morals, honor or public modesty to confront acts of sexual harassment.

This study aimed to demonstrate the penal confrontation with the acts of sexual harassment, by reviewing the concept of sexual harassment, patterns of criminal behavior in sexual harassment and criminal protection against it in Jordanian legislation in comparison with some other penal legislations.

In conclusion, the study reached a set of conclusions represented by the nonexistence of a unified legislative perception of sexual harassment, the inability of traditional texts to confront acts of sexual harassment, and the need for the penal legislator to strive towards setting specific provisions to confront this phenomenon.
