It Explains its benefits in the era of big data and social media.

It also highlight the limits of this new methods and its epistemological stakes.

Moreover, this article tries to put forward various positions on the idea that began to spread slowly but surely in university literature, that big methods probably will make various theories in the social sciences and humanities obsolete.
