The research aims to find out the effect of the ring discussion strategy on the development of emotional intelligence among first-grade middle school students in the subject of Islamic education.
To achieve the goal of the research, two null hypotheses were developed, and the research was limited to first-grade students in the Nineveh Governorate Center for the first semester (2019-2020).
The researcher used the experimental design with two equal groups, as the research sample consisted of (60) students, of (30) A student in the class of (A) the experimental group that was studied according to a strategy The ring discussion, and (30) students in Division (B), the control group that was studied according to the usual method, and the researcher conducted parity between students of the two groups of research in the following variables: (the chronological age of students calculated in months, the general average for the sixth grade, the degree of Islamic education in Sixth grade of primary school, IQ, emotional intelligence test, academic achievement of the parents) The researcher prepared the teaching plans for the topics that were taught during the period of the experiment distributed among the two research groups, and the researcher also adopted a ready-made scale (for Al-Khazraji, 2007) consisting of (40) paragraphs.
In order to ensure the validity of the use of the tool, the researcher presented the tools to a group of experts and specialists for the purpose of identifying its apparent validity, and the tool was applied to an exploratory sample to measure the difficulty factor and discriminatory strength (0.
84).After processing the data statistically using the T-test for two independent samples, the researcher concluded: The students of the experimental group outperformed the students of the control group in the test of the emotional intelligence scale.
