The aim of the current research is to identify: 1.
The level of extremism in response among students of the College of Education.
2.
The level of mental flexibility among students of the College of Education.
3.
The nature of the relationship between extremism in response and mental flexibility among students of the College of Education.
4.
The significance of the differences in the relationship between extremes of response and mental flexibility according to the variables of sex and specialization.
To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher has adopted Al- Hamrani's ( 2010) scale to measure the extremism in the response, which in its final form consists of (37) items .
In addition , the researcher has also adopted Mohammed's ( 2016) scale, which in its final form consists of (45) items and after extracting the psychometric properties of the two scales from the validity and stability, the researcher applied the two scales to (400) male and female students from the College of Education , Mustansiriyah University, who were chosen randomly.
The results showed a low level of extremism in response among university students, while they showed that university students have a good level of mental flexibility, and also showed a strong inverse relationship between response extremism and mental flexibility, and no differences appeared in the relationship between the research variables according to the variable of gender and specialization.
In light of the results, the researcher gave some recommendations and suggestions.
