The current research aims to know the level of lateral thinking among students of the Department of Arabic Language, College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences, and to identify whether there are statistically significant differences in terms of gender (males, females), and academic stage, the descriptive approach was followed in the research, and a sample consisted of The research consisted of (100) male and female students from the College of Education.
The sample was chosen by stratified random sampling method.
The researcher adopted the Torrance test for lateral thinking.
The researcher calculated the apparent validity and the factorial validity of the test and stability.
After applying the test to the research sample, the data was statistically analyzed, and the results showed a weak level of lateral thinking in the research sample.
And that there are differences in the level of lateral thinking among students according to the gender variable in favor of males over females, and there is no correlation due to the variables (gender, stage) in the responses of the research sample.
