Abstract EN

The study aimed to investigate the reality of the investment of funds in the Islamic Banks of Oman, thus illustrates the commitment of the financing and investment policy in contributing to the economic and social development.

Islamic banks do not take into account their developmental role in the society, which can be noticed on their reliance on short-term financing and investment in order to achieve rapid profitability and high liquidity, thus becoming similar to what traditional banks offer.

The researchers concluded that there is a clear lack of Omani Islamic banks in contributing to the economic and social development, as long-term investing policies represented a small percentage of the total investments; therefore, Omani Islamic banks did not contribute to the economic and social development as hoped.
