Abstract EN

The current research aims to identify emotional manipulation and self-blame among university students, as well as to identify the significance of the difference according to gender (male - female), as well as the correlation between the two variables, and in order to verify this, the researchers adopted a scale, Austin, et al, 2007)) to measure the emotional manipulation variable based on (Bandura) theory and expressed by (Mohsen 2019), as the number of its items in its final form was (19) items.

As for the self-blame scale, the researchers built the scale based on the theory (Janov Polman, 1979).

The scale consisted of (25) items in its final form, and their psychometric properties were confirmed, and the two tools were applied to a sample of (400) male and female students who were selected in a stratified random manner from (6) colleges at the University of Baghdad, for the academic year (2020-2021).

The following search results: 1.

The research sample of university students possess emotional manipulation.

2.There is no statistically significant difference between (males and females) in emotional manipulation.

3.The members of the research sample from the university students have the same blame.

4.There is a statistically significant difference between (males and females) in self-blame and in favor of males.

5.There is an inverse correlation between emotional manipulation and self-blame.
