Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the intellectual frameworks of governance in Saudi public universities, as well as to discuss conceptual frameworks for spending efficiency, and sought to reveal the role of governance in improving spending efficiency in Saudi public universities.

the study used the analytical descriptive approach to literature and previous studies related to the subject of the study.

the study found a number of results, most notably: that governance plays an active role in improving overall performance efficiency, has a significant impact on achieving spending efficiency in Saudi Universities, and that the implementation of governance in universities contributes positively to clearly and transparently identifying authorities and responsibilities, and that it works to achieve justice among all its employees, through the opportunities provided by governance principles to communicate and participate in decision-making, as well as that governance plays an important role in the comprehensive and accurate review of regulations; and focus on ensuring efficiency and impact of spending, to ensure the sustainability of resources and improve performance.
