Crimes of discrimination and hatred are among the most common crimes, that many international conventions have sought to fight and eliminate, and the Algerian state is among the countries that have ratified most of these international conventions, we have tried to reflect this through the provisions that have been included in this regard in national laws such as the constitution and the penal code, under law 14-01, the Algerian legislator introduced a set of texts aimed at combating discrimination and hate speech, but these texts were not sufficient to deal with such crimes, whether in terms of punishment or even determining what the crime was.

in order to realize this deficiency, the Algerian legislator issued law 20-05, which attempted to update the shortcomings contained in the old law, as well as the introduction of new articles that contribute to the prevention and opening of such crimes, so we try through this study to make the most important points created by the Algerian legislator, explaining the difference between them and what was done in the old texts in addition to the procedures developed in the search and investigation of such crimes and in the prevention of such crimes.
