Border security is one of the important dimensions of security for states, as it is the immune wall that preserves their sovereignty.

Therefore, states work hard to maintain the security of their borders.

Especially in light of the emergence of various security threats that combine those of an economic, social, environmental, health and nature, military and cybernetic threats, not to mention the impact of international rivalry; Where the international forces work to feed some threats and confront others, according to the degree of compatibility or collision in relations, as well as the level of interests.

Algeria, by virtue of the international and regional events that characterized the last two decades, also the transformations and challenges which happened in the Maghreb and the Arab region, made the security of its borders a bet that requires adopting more than one approach to preserve it.

This article aims to examine the impact of international rivalry on the security of Algeria's borders, as well as researching the necessary approaches to confront security threats along the Algerian border band.
