Abstract EN

The research aims at defining the verb in the nabataean language by studying it in a descriptive way in terms of verb root, verb weights, morphological forms, and the five verbs.

the research concluded that there is a triple root for most of the verbs in the nabataean language, and only a few found for the quadrilateral.

moreover, the research showed that there are seven weights for the verb in the nabataean language, the verbs are: fa’al, fael, faala, afa’la, tafal’,efta’la,and etfa’la.

the research revealed the existence of the following morphological forms in the nabataean language which are: the past, the past used for the present in supplication, the present tense, and the imperative.

finally, the research pointed out that the form “yaf’loun” (they do) is only limited to the nabataean use for the five verbs.
