Derivative works are a form of intellectual works protected by copyright law, and the Algerian legislator has approved protection for them as they are the fruits of his thought and creativity.

Copyright is given to every innovative mental product, whether original or derived, and authorizes its owner a set of moral and financial powers.

Therefore, we will try, through this research paper, to focus the study on derivative works by defining their concept and images, while clarifying the legal conditions that must be met in them in order to enjoy protection as well as the rights arising from them.
