Abstract EN

The present study focuses on the phenomenon of tribal war in the central Maghreb through direct witnesses from historians, geographers and others who recorded this phenomenon with different impressions via a narrative context, and sometimes with bias and prejudice.

therefore, there are those who make it an inherent habit that falls within the framework of the usual, and those who consider it a type of prostitution and corruption, and others relate its appearance to the setbacks that the region has known, and there are those who make it a means of earning.

despite this discrepancy, this phenomenon remains present in its oldness, prevalence and continuity, and it cannot be explained in a narrow space on an ethnic or religious basis.

instead, it must be approached scientifically through the search for historical, economic and social factors and the realization of reason in order to clarify its systems and understand them correctly.
