The main objective of contemporary criminal policy in general, and contemporary penal policy in particular, is the trend towards rationalizing punishment, by shifting towards consensual alternative penalties, one of the most important of these penalties, which was stipulated by the Algerian legislator, is the electronic bracelet.

through this study, we shed light on the electronic bracelet as one of the uses of new technologies in the punitive field, for the purpose of determining the efficacy of using this system or its ineffectiveness as a consensual punitive alternative in achieving the requirements of contemporary punitive policy, and we discussed its legal system in Algerian legislation.

and we reached results in this study, the most important of which is that the electronic bracelet is an effective consensual punitive alternative, that achieves the most important objectives of the modern punitive policy, as this system is effective enough to achieve the desired goals of its application.
