This study aims to analyze the reality of the insurance sector and the extent of its contribution to the Algerian economy, following the number of reforms witnessed by this sector, especially after the issuance of Ordinance 95-07 of 25 January 1995 on insurance, which carried out real reforms in this sector that opened a wide field for the private sector to be active in this sector after it was the monopoly of the public sector, but the study found that the insurance sector in Algeria is experiencing slow growth in terms of its contribution to the The Algerian economy is illustrated by the penetration rate in the gross domestic product, which does not exceed 1%, which requires a number of other reforms that will put this important sector in the locomotive of economic development in Algeria.
