Abstract EN

This research aims to shed light on the Zakat indicator proposed by the researcher as a tool and a mathematical statistical method to measure the monthly or annual inflation rate, including purchasing power.

The descriptive and analytical approach of the nature of the research has been relied on, considering that this indicator is inspired by the legal zakat quorum for paper money tied to gold, and the comparative approach with the consumer price index to find out the differences and similarities between them and the method of calculating inflation rates.

And we have finally come to the conclusion that this tool can actually be adopted as an economic indicator and a method of calculating inflation in addition to other well-known methods such as Klasper, Bach and Fisher.

It also has the ability to give correct and accurate figures about the rate of inflation and the cost of living in any country, for the advantage of linking it to the gold standard, which is characterized by relative stability as confirmed by many economists.
