The study aims to highlight the role of banks in achieving sustainable economic development in its various dimensions, by trying to adapt their banking services and policies to support environmentally friendly projects and investments, to reduce the impact of climate change, environmental pollution and the depletion of natural resources.

Many banks around the world have begun to support and go along with this trend, until it has become called green banks, followed by many Arab banks, which have begun to strengthen banking services and activities that are in line with the goals and requirements of sustainable development, and the data indicate that the trend towards green banks is not It is still weak in the Arab countries, due to the many challenges and obstacles that prevent it from reaching high levels that require more efforts and will to overcome and remove them, such as the low flow of investment in green projects and the low profits obtained from them.
