The Algerian identity consists of the same elements of any identity in the world, which are represented in language, culture, history, as well as collective consciousness and inherited social norms.

however, the Algerian identity has its own specificity and characteristics that have been marked throughout history, which gives it the characteristic of exclusivity and incomparability with the identity of the infidel occupier, which has nothing to do with anything of civilization or intellectual affiliation, be it national or national.

the Algerian identity has undergone many conflicts and transformations that it suffered from the Algerian people are under exclusionary policies that deny their existence under a colonial regime for more than a century and more, with the aim of exterminating an entire people and abolishing their existence or integrating them under the culture and rule of the French colonialist.

one of the important aspects that the French colonial policies target in the Algerian identity is the targeting of the Algerian Arab language, customs and traditions.

the popular and later political resistances, despite their different forms and ideological tendencies, constituted a categorical and logical rejection of all forms of occupation and its consequences, and the insistence on proving the existence of this nation striking in the history of this glorious land by confronting all forms of obliteration and occultation.
