Abstract EN

This study is based on approaching the concept of cultural identity and its reflections on the "Ego" and the "Other" in El-Habib El-Saih's Me and Haim.

It, further, attempts to identify the cultural peculiarity that distinguishes the multicultural Algerian society.

That, this latter witnessed an intensive presence of the Other from diversified ideologies, as well as cultural and civilisational backgrounds during the colonial period.

So, this profoundly influenced the Ego which tended to defend its identity and land among the other crowding identities.

Accordingly, these were associated, in a way or another, with the Arab Nation' issues, especially, those pertained to the Palestinian Cause, Immigration and Dhimmis.

This was revealed in various ways, in which, religion and heritage were strongly present.
