The study of the environmental impact of the public works deal in Algerian legislation is one of the most important stages prior to contracting in the field of public works deals, and part of the planning process to determine public demand and establish national and local development projects, as well as one of the most important applications of the environmental impact assessment system for development projects as it embodies the principle of preventive activity consecrated under the Algerian environmental law.

it aims to prevent the public works deal from harming the environment and its various elements, and to use appropriate preventive mechanisms before the completion and implementation of the public works deal.
